La compétition se déroule sur 38 journées, au cours desquelles chaque équipe affronte deux fois toutes les autres, une fois à domicile et une fois à l’extérieur. Trois points sont attribués pour une victoire, un point pour un match nul et aucun pour une défaite.
Comment les équipes sont départagées en Premier League en cas d'égalité ?
En cas d’égalité de points, les équipes sont départagées selon le nombre de victoires, la différence de buts, puis le nombre de buts inscrits. L’équipe en tête à l’issue de la saison est sacrée championne d’Angleterre.
